When I first started going to GOOD Open Mics in the last century, this was the first one I found. Located in Berkeley, this Irish pub has been a focal point for aspiring musicians, poets, political activists and general drunkness since the early 1970's. I can't say when the first Open Mic started but I started going well before the current hosts Joan Pez and Girl George were on the scene. It's a bit of a hippy/flower child Open Mic but what would you expect in Berkeley. The bar itself not only serves lots of beers but also has a variety of fresh good food available from the kitchen. Most of the videos on this page were made at Joan and George's 6th anniversary party in June of 2006.
