The Oakland Metro was my favorite new Open Mic. Run by TomKat Rohrer with Joko as MC, it mixed the crowds of the Berkeley folk songwriters with the up and coming Oakland Hyphy scene. There were actually 2 Open Mics on Mondays. The earlier was your usual Hippie Open Mic, then later the Oakland Hyphy scene would go on.
