The Hotel Utah in San Francisco has consistently been voted the "Best Open Mic" in San Francisco for years. If you ever go there you will find out why they win the San Francisco Bay Guardian's poll. On any one night, the caliber of entertainment does not get any better.

If you come to perform, be aware that you only get one song. The names are drawn out of a hat and the last one picked goes first. There are so many people wanting to play that the list is often 50-60 people. It seems that everyone there is promoting an upcoming show (that in itself shows the level of talent).
