	The Hotel Utah in San Francisco has been on our list for quite some time of Open Mics we had to cover for the Open Mic Documentary. Having played there on and off years ago and knowing some good friends still played there regularly, it was just a matter of time before we went. While filming at the Freight & Salvage I met and filmed Jeremy Hill who is helping promote the Utah on YouTube. Well I saw he had filmed people like Dave G and Fancy Dan and Mike Skipper from Skeleton Television, who are all East Bay regulars as well and decided we had to head there next. It turned out that our friend Mike Chase was featuring so we offered to come and film him. We finally made it and were treated very kindly by Hotel Utah Open Mic host extraordinare JJ Schultz, the keeper of the red flame and the PA mix. There were some outstanding performances that night, JJ Schultz included. We filmed some great singer-songwriters, who are in the videos below. I ran across many people I hadn't seen in awhile and of course the ubiquitous JC Tourbillion who seems to be everywhere in the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Area Open Mic Scene. Post A Comment.
